If necessary and indicated, we can perform a wide variety of general surgical operations at Meliva, both under local anesthesia and general anesthesia.

When to see a specialist

  • Hernias: All hernias that cause pain, discomfort, or risk of organ incarceration.
  • Gallstones and cholecystitis: Causing severe pain, nausea, and digestive problems.
  • Acute appendicitis: Requiring urgent surgical removal.
  • Skin lesions: Benign (e.g., lipomas, atheromas, large birthmarks) and malignant (skin cancer) tumors that require removal.
  • Abscesses and furuncles: Pus collections in the skin and soft tissues that require surgical opening and cleaning.
  • Hemorrhoids and anal fissures: Causing pain, bleeding, and discomfort.
  • Thyroid and parathyroid diseases: Tumors, goiter (at Meliva, we perform initial diagnostics/consultation).
  • Gastrointestinal diseases: Some complications of bowel obstruction, diverticulitis, or inflammatory bowel diseases that require surgical treatment.
  • Small wounds and injuries: Requiring surgical cleaning and closure.Initial diagnostics of veins.

Common symptoms

  • Abscesses or wounds

    That do not heal or are inflamed.

  • Enlarged thyroid or nodules in the neck

    These require medical evaluation to rule out more serious causes, such as thyroid cancer or thyroid dysfunction.

    Persistent nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, blood in stool, indicating a serious problem.

  • Growing or changing skin lesions

    A benign skin lesion is growing or changing and may need to be assessed for removal.
