Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are injectable hyaluronic acid treatments that restore facial volume, smooth deeper wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. The treatment helps achieve natural, balanced results while preserving your unique facial features.
When to see a specialist
- Loss of facial volume and age-related changes: Reduced facial volume and changes in facial contours caused by the natural aging process.
- Deep wrinkles and folds: Pronounced static wrinkles and folds caused by aging of the skin and underlying soft tissues.
- Changes in lip shape and volume: Naturally thin lips or age-related loss of lip volume and fullness.
- Loss of volume in the under-eye area: Tear troughs and hollows beneath the eyes that create a tired appearance.
- Desire to enhance facial contours: A desire to restore or improve the contours of the cheeks, jawline, chin, or other facial features.
Common symptoms
-
Changes in facial contours
The cheeks, jawline, or chin have lost their definition or balance. -
Deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines
Deep folds around the nose and corners of the mouth make the face appear older or more tired. -
Fine lines around the mouth
Fine lines or wrinkles have developed around the mouth. -
Loss of facial volume
The face has lost fullness, and the skin appears less firm. -
Pronounced tear troughs
A hollow under the eyes creates shadows that make the under-eye area appear darker and the face look more tired. -
Thin or asymmetrical lips
The lips are naturally thin, have lost volume, or are asymmetrical.
How to prepare for your appointment
- Bring your ID card or another identification document.
- If you have had aesthetic procedures before, if possible, find your beauty passport or information about what and when you had injections (recommended, but not mandatory).
- Three days before the procedure, it is not recommended to use blood-thinning preparations such as ibuprofen and aspirin. If you need painkillers, you can replace them with paracetamol (except for patients for whom such treatment has been prescribed by a cardiologist, neurologist, or another specialist).
- Two days before the injection, avoid sun exposure, alcohol consumption, and skin-irritating procedures (waxing, strong peeling).
- We recommend eating a light meal before the procedure and not being on an empty stomach.
What to expect during your appointment
Consultation
The procedure is always preceded by a consultation, during which the doctor introduces the procedure, examines the health condition, reviews the medical history, and ensures there are no contraindications.
Anesthesia
Depending on the area and technique, it may be necessary to apply a special numbing cream. In this case, it is applied to the injection area and allowed to take effect.
Procedure
The doctor injects the filler into or under the skin. The choice of fillers is very wide: depending on the problem, the doctor decides which consistency of filler (softer or firmer) and in what quantity to use to achieve the best result.
Aftercare and recommendations
After the injection, instructions for home care and recommendations on what to avoid will be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do fillers contain?
Fillers contain hyaluronic acid gel, which binds water and helps restore skin volume and hydration. At Meliva, we use ultra-pure, high-quality hyaluronic acid preparations such as Restylane.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure may cause slight discomfort, but it is generally well-tolerated. If necessary, a numbing cream is used before injection, and many fillers also contain lidocaine.
How long do the results last?
The duration of results depends on the filler used, the injection site, and individual factors, but it is usually 6-18 months.
What to consider after the visit?
For 12 hours after the procedure, do not touch, massage, wash, apply cream, or makeup to the injected area.
For 48 hours after the procedure, avoid intense exercise, sauna, swimming pool, and alcohol consumption.
For two weeks, avoid sunbathing, laser, RF, and HIFU procedures in the facial area, and vaccination if possible.
After the injection, redness, slight swelling, and soreness/tingling may occur during the first few days. To relieve symptoms, it is recommended to take paracetamol and apply a cold compress. Sometimes bruises may appear from the injection, which usually subside within 4-5 days.
If the soreness at the injection site does not significantly decrease by the 3rd day after the procedure, or if fever or malaise occurs, please contact us!
