Workplace risk assessment

A workplace risk assessment provides an overview of workplace hazards, their impact on health, and opportunities for prevention. When needed, we carry out measurements and advise employers on suitable improvement measures.

Why offer this service to employees?

A workplace risk assessment is a legal requirement for employers and helps evaluate workplace hazards and their impact on employee health.

A risk assessment:

  • Helps identify workplace hazards and assess their impact on employee health
  • Supports informed decision-making to improve the work environment
  • Helps prevent work-related health problems, accidents, and excessive workload
  • Provides objective workplace evaluation through measurements when needed
  • Forms the basis for preventive measures and action planning

When is the service needed?

  • Hazards present

    Employees are exposed to physical, chemical, or ergonomic hazards.
  • New work arrangements

    Work processes, equipment, or work organisation have changed.
  • Prevention

    You want to prevent work-related health risks and workplace accidents.
  • Risk factors present

    The workplace involves noise, vibration, dust, or other measurable risk factors.

What’s included?

The risk assessment is carried out in cooperation with employer representatives and employees.

Where appropriate, we can use workplace measurements to provide a more objective assessment of the work environment.

The scope of the measurements depends on the characteristics of the workplace and the agreed requirements.

We operate an EAK-accredited (Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation) testing laboratory (L088) for the following measurements:

  • illuminance and lighting uniformity;
  • indoor climate (air temperature and relative humidity);
  • noise levels (A- and C-weighted) and frequency analysis, including the calculation of daily noise exposure.
  • Following the assessment, we provide the employer with an evaluation of the findings and recommendations for planning preventive measures.
