Meliva is a contractual partner of Tervisekassa  (Estonian Health Insurance Fund) for providing several healthcare services. 
Below is an overview of the services available with Tervisekassa funding, along with important information about booking appointments and visit fees.

Dental Care

It is possible to visit all Meliva dental clinics for the following services with Tervisekassa funding:

  • Adult dental care benefit The dental care benefit for insured adults is €60 (with a 50% co-payment). Read more about using the benefit.
  • Dental and orthodontic treatment for children
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgery
  • Emergency dental care for adults and denture benefit

Vaccination

The following Meliva clinics provide vaccination services under the national immunisation schedule:

For adults and children:

  • Jalgpalli clinic, Tallinn
  • Rävala clinic, Tallinn
  • Ülemiste Health Centre clinic, Tallinn

Rävala and Ülemiste clinics in Tallinn 

With referral

  • Physiotherapy service (under a separate physiotherapy contract)
  • Psychologist service (under a separate psychological treatment contract)

A referral is required for both services. In addition to a general practitioner, a referral can also be made by a specialist doctor or a specialist nurse (for example, a diabetes nurse or a mental health nurse), provided they are authorised to issue referrals.

Appointments for other services reimbursed by the Health Insurance Fund can be booked through the national Health Portal (https://www.terviseportaal.ee/) or by contacting the Meliva call center at 1525 or by email at klienditugi@meliva.ee.

Kvartali clinic and Annelinna clinic in Tartu

With a referral

  • Cardiology service
  • Ear-nose-throat doctor service
  • Physiotherapy service (under an independent physiotherapy contract) – a referral is required, and in addition to a family doctor, a specialist doctor or specialist nurse (e.g., a diabetes nurse or mental health nurse) can issue a referral if they have the right to do so.
  • Psychologist service (under an independent psychological treatment contract) – a referral is required, and in addition to a family doctor, a specialist doctor or specialist nurse (e.g., a diabetes nurse or mental health nurse) can issue a referral if they have the right to do so.

Without a referral

  • Gynecology service
  • Ophthalmologist service

You can register for independent psychological treatment services only through the Meliva call center at 1525 or by emailing klienditugi@meliva.ee.

Without a referral

You can register for independent psychological treatment services only through the Meliva call center at 1525 or by emailing klienditugi@meliva.ee.

We serve based on the treatment queue within the scope of the Health Insurance Fund contract.

Outside the general queue, in the absence of health insurance or a required referral, we offer paid appointments.

General Information about Tervisekassa Appointments

Visit Fee

The specialist appointment fee (for a visit covered by Tervisekassa) is €20; for beneficiaries, it is €5.

The visit fee is not charged for:

  • children under two years of age,
  • pregnant women,
  • patients in need of emergency medical care,
  • if the insured person is referred by a healthcare professional from the same institution to a specialist at the same institution,
  • if the insured person is referred by a doctor of the same speciality from another medical institution.
Booking an Appointment

If you wish to use the dental care benefit, you can book an appointment with a dentist independently by booking online in the self-service portal or by calling the respective Meliva clinic. You must inform the dentist during the visit that you wish to use the benefit.

Appointments for independent psychological treatment services can only be booked through the Meliva call centre.

For other services covered by Tervisekassa, appointments can be booked through the national Health Portal (https://www.terviseportaal.ee/) or by contacting the Meliva call centre at 1525 or by email at klienditugi@meliva.ee.

For Doctors

Meliva also provides services funded through the examination fund based on referrals from family doctors.

Cancelling an Appointment

If a patient cancels the healthcare service contract less than 24 hours before the agreed time for the service or fails to show up at the agreed time and place, the healthcare provider has the right to demand a double visit fee from the patient upon the next healthcare service contract. (Health Insurance Act § 70 section 6)
