Cardiovascular blood panel
The cardiovascular panel helps to assess the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as cholesterol, blood sugar, and inflammatory markers. The panel also includes a lipoprotein(a) test, which can help to clarify hereditary risk. If you have symptoms, it is always recommended to consult a doctor.
When to see a specialist
- High cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Risk or presence of diabetes

The presence of chronic diseases or heart diseases in close relatives can increase hereditary risk factors and be important information for prevention -
High blood pressure
Elevated blood pressure is an important cardiovascular risk factor. -
High cholesterol level
Cholesterol level is elevated or there is a suspicion of a cholesterol metabolism disorder, especially if the indicators do not improve with conventio -
Reduced exercise tolerance or recovery ability
Greater fatigue, weakness, or slower recovery than usual after physical exertion, which may be accompanied by shortness of breath or chest discomfort. -
Risk of diabetes or suspected blood sugar disorder

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the cardiovascular panel measure?
The cardiovascular panel includes cholesterol markers, HbA1c, CRP, a complete blood count, and a lipoprotein(a) test, which are key cardiovascular disease risk factors that can be analysed from the blood.
Why is lipoprotein(a) important?
Lp(a) is a primarily hereditary risk factor that can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Many guidelines recommend measuring it at least once in a lifetime.
Do I need to fast for the cardiovascular panel?
The test can be taken 2–3 hours after a light meal.
What does HbA1c show?
HbA1c, or glycated hemoglobin, reflects the average blood sugar level over approximately the last 3 months and is used to assess for diabetes and prediabetes.
What should I do if my results are outside the normal range?
Consult a doctor. A risk assessment always depends on several indicators combined.
Can cardiovascular diseases be prevented?
The risk can be reduced by quitting smoking, regular physical activity, controlling blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, and eating a balanced diet.
