Optometrist

An optometrist checks and corrects visual acuity. We consult patients who require optical aids and issue prescriptions for glasses.

Eye examinations performed by an optometrist

  • Refractometry – objective measurement of visual acuity
  • Subjective measurement of visual acuity
  • Measurement of eye dryness (in the case of symptoms)
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (in the case of symptoms)
  • Biomicroscopy of the anterior segment of the eye (in the case of symptoms)
  • Colour blindness testing (if necessary)
  • Assigning and prescribing glasses (in the case of symptoms)
  • Treatment and recommendations for further testing
Before the optometrist’s appointment
  • If you wear glasses, we ask you to bring your glasses and, if possible, the prescription for your current glasses.
  • Please remove your contact lenses before the appointment
