
Optometrist
An optometrist checks and corrects visual acuity. We consult patients who require optical aids and issue prescriptions for glasses.
Eye examinations performed by an optometrist
- Refractometry – objective measurement of visual acuity
- Subjective measurement of visual acuity
- Measurement of eye dryness (in the case of symptoms)
- Measurement of intraocular pressure (in the case of symptoms)
- Biomicroscopy of the anterior segment of the eye (in the case of symptoms)
- Colour blindness testing (if necessary)
- Assigning and prescribing glasses (in the case of symptoms)
- Treatment and recommendations for further testing
Before the optometrist’s appointment
- If you wear glasses, we ask you to bring your glasses and, if possible, the prescription for your current glasses.
- Please remove your contact lenses before the appointment
