When to see a specialist

  • Dynamic wrinkles: Wrinkles caused by repeated facial muscle movements.
  • Age-related wrinkles: Fine lines and wrinkles that develop on the face and neck as part of the natural aging process.
  • Desire to enhance facial harmony: A desire to adjust the position of the eyebrows, nasal tip, or upper lip, or to refine the contour of the lower face for a more balanced appearance.
  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis): Excessive sweating that causes discomfort and interferes with daily life.

Common symptoms

  • Changes around the mouth and chin

Wrinkles around the mouth, downturned corners of the mouth, or a dimpled chin.
  • Drooping nasal tip

The tip of the nose moves downward when smiling.
  • Enlarged masseter muscles

The chewing muscles make the lower face appear wider or more square.
  • Forehead and frown lines

Lines on the forehead or between the eyebrows become more noticeable with facial expressions or have become permanent.

How to prepare for your appointment

  • Bring your ID card or another identification document.
  • Write down or think through your main questions and goals for the procedure.
  • No separate preparation is necessary, unless otherwise agreed.
  • We recommend a 2-week gap for vaccination (before and after the procedure).

What to expect during your appointment

Consultation

We will discuss your skin condition, expectations, and the suitability of the procedure. The specialist will review your medical history to make a final decision regarding the procedure’s suitability.

Procedure

A small amount of botulinum toxin is injected with a very fine needle into 5–10 points, depending on the area (frown line between the eyebrows, horizontal wrinkles, wrinkles around the eyes). The procedure is generally well-tolerated and does not require anesthesia.

Aftercare

After the procedure, instructions for home care and what to avoid will be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between botulinum and Botox?

Botox is one brand name (as are Vistabel, Dysport, Xeomin) that contains the active ingredient botulinum toxin. All these products use the same active ingredient.

How long does the result last?

The effect lasts on average 3–6 months and depends on the individual characteristics of the person, the dose size, and lifestyle. The procedure can be repeated after 4 months.

Does botulinum toxin have side effects?

Although the procedure does not involve extensive recovery time, small bruises and some swelling may occur at the injection sites as a result of the injections. These are temporary. Very rarely, side effects such as drooping eyelids and the lateral part of the eyebrows may occur, which are also temporary and treatable.

How quickly does the effect of botulinum appear?

The effect of botulinum usually appears within 3–5 days, but can take up to two weeks.

What to do if the desired result is not achieved within two weeks?

If the desired result is not achieved within two weeks or if there is slight asymmetry, it can be easily corrected, and you do not have to pay extra for the correction.

Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is generally well-tolerated and does not require anesthesia.

What should be avoided after the procedure?

After the procedure, for 48 hours, you should not go to the sauna, solarium, consume alcohol, and physical exertion should also be avoided. Also, a 14-day gap should be maintained with laser, RF, and ultrasound procedures, as well as vaccination.
