Anti-snoring dental appliance

A custom-made sleep appliance, prepared by a dentist and individually fitted to the patient’s bite, is an effective treatment option primarily for snoring and mild sleep apnea, but is also suitable for moderate to severe sleep apnea when CPAP therapy is not appropriate.

What to expect during your appointment

Sleep apnea study

Before making a sleep appliance, a sleep apnea study – nocturnal polygraphy – is necessary.

Often, a DISE study is also performed, which helps to more accurately assess the potential effectiveness of the sleep appliance.

Dental check-up

Before evaluating the suitability of the sleep appliance, a dental check-up is performed to ensure the teeth are in good condition.

Fitting

After the initial visit, the dentist will take a 3D scan of your dentition, based on which a ResMed Narval sleep appliance will be manufactured in France.

After the appliance is ready, the snoring appliance will be fitted.

Repeated sleep apnea study

If necessary, the sleep study will be repeated to assess its impact on sleep apnea.
