Introduction
As a gastroenterologist, my main focus is the diagnosis and endoscopic treatment methods for gastric and intestinal diseases, as well as benign and malignant tumors of the digestive tract. Endoscopy is a field in which I have been active for over three decades—from the initial implementation of new methods in Estonia to modern minimally invasive techniques. In 1993–1994, I organized the first colorectal cancer screening in Estonia, which spurred the screening to become a national program today.
