Clinical psychologist

A clinical psychologist has been awarded the profession of a clinical psychologist and received special training to support mental health, psychological well-being, and resilience and help people with special psychological needs or mental and behavioural disorders and their loved ones. A clinical psychologist specialises in recognising, evaluating, and treating mental and behavioural disorders and health-threatening behaviours, and preventing the development of mental disorders.

A clinical psychologist may be additionally trained in psychotherapy, neuropsychology, etc. and use these methods in their daily counselling and treatment work.
