Removal of skin growths
Laser treatment is a safe method for removing unwanted skin growths such as birthmarks, papillomas, keratoses, warts, enlarged sebaceous glands, etc.
In most cases, the laser removes the skin growth completely without leaving a scar. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and is painless. After the procedure, the area is treated with an antiseptic and a bandage is applied. After the removal, the skin will develop a crust, which will disappear in about 7-10 days (do not remove it yourself).
Laser treatment can be used to remove certain types of birthmarks, which are examined by a dermatologist beforehand with the help of a dermatoscope. Removed birthmarks are sent for histopathological examination to the North Estonia Medical Centre and images are saved in the Dermtest programme.
