Full arch dental implants

Full dental arch with four to eight dental implants

Replacement of the full dental arch with four to eight dental implants is a treatment option for people who either have no teeth in their upper or lower jaw or the condition of the teeth is so poor that they need to be removed. The advantage of this technology is that individual dental implants for each tooth are not needed. The decision on how many dental implants are needed to fix the dental arch into the jaw is made by the physician based on the condition of the patient’s jaws.

In some cases, the condition of the patient’s gums is also very poor and artificial gums are fixed into the mouth together with the dental arch to ensure a natural outcome.

Fixing an entire dental arch with dental implants is highly convenient, as it doesn't become loose unexpectedly – a result that is difficult to achieve with regular dentures. Dental implants that are fixed in the jaw can also prevent further bone loss, preserving the natural shape of the face.

Treatment stages for full arch dentures

After consultations and detailed planning, the dental implants are generally fixed in one treatment session. Implantation is carried out under local or general anaesthesia. The most suitable option for the patient is decided on by the physician.

Once implantation is complete, the wounds are given a few days to heal, after which impressions for crowns are taken. The dental lab then uses the impressions to prepare dentures that are bonded to the dental implants. Depending on the complexity of the work and the patient’s health status, the entire process may take one to two weeks.
