Sports medicine physician
Meliva provides consultations in sports medicine. 2/3 of the work of Dr. Männik is focused on sports traumas and injuries and 1/3 on manual therapy. In addition, the sports medicine physician treats the following:
- sports traumas;
- overtraining syndromes;
- joint pain caused by overtraining;
- neck and back pain.
Manual therapy is a system of treatment methods that enables to treat spine and joint disorders, disorders in the muscular and ligaments system, and neurological internal diseases. A manual therapist is a physician who identifies blocked joints and releases them manually, resulting in decreased pain.
The physician provides advice on performing special exercises which help to prevent overtraining injuries in the musculoskeletal system. If necessary, the physician will use injections or tablets to remove infections.
