Psychiatrist
A psychiatrist specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and behavioural disorders. The initial psychiatrist’s appointment focuses on evaluating the mental health of the patient and planning future treatment and intervention needs. The need and possibility for future appointments will be agreed on at the first visit.
If necessary, the psychiatrist will involve other mental health specialists in the treatment process (such as clinical psychologist, mental health nurse, psychologist-counsellor, etc.) to find the best possible treatment options, taking into account the needs and wishes of the patient.
