Neurosurgery as a specialty deals with a broad spectrum of problems both of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord) and peripheral nervous system (for example, carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes), which can be both developmental and acquired during life. In addition, based on need, neurosurgery also deals with surgical treatment of the spine.

Dr. Elli Asser has ten years of neurosurgical experience and has attended several courses of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, hands-on laboratory training courses and international congresses. The main topics of the training are neuro-oncology, pediatric neurosurgery, spinal surgery, peripheral nervous system surgery and various microsurgical skills. In addition, she completed a several-month fellowship in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the subspecialty of skull base surgery (this includes, for example, meningiomas and pituitary adenomas, the surgical treatment of which Dr. Asser deals with). Dr. Asser consults patients of all ages, including children with previously diagnosed neurosurgical problems. The reception can be conducted in Estonian, English and Russian languages.

Patients with various clinical problems are consulted:

- Brain tumors, spinal cord tumors - both accidental findings on radiological examination as well as previously treated/currently treated tumors
- Patients with skull base meningiomas and pituitary adenomas
- Intracranial vascular malformations, aneurysms of cerebral arteries, cavernomas, other cerebral arteriovenous malformations
- Patients with trigeminal neuralgia
- Acute and chronic neck and back pain with nerve pain radiating to the limb(-s)
- Childhood neurosurgical problems that have already been diagnosed
- Patients with hydrocephalus
- In case of suspicion of peripheral tunnel syndromes (carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes)
- Patients with previous traumatic brain injuries

In addition, it is possible to consult for a second opinion or for questions that have arisen in connection with the description of the radiological imaging of the nervous system (brain, spine). If the imaging is previously done and seen in Estonian imaging archive, it is possible to review it together during the consultation.
